CBS-ova emisija “60 minuta” dočekala je novu godinu s porukom o sudnjem danu eugeničara Paula Ehrlicha, koji je izjavio da će većina ljudi umrijeti u sljedećih nekoliko mjeseci.
Treba napomenuti da je Ehrlich bio u krivu u svemu u posljednjih 6 desetljeća.

Ehrlich je 60-ih u svojoj knjizi “The Population Bomb” pozivao na kontrolu stanovništva jer je vjerovao da će raširena glad ubiti stotine milijuna ljudi.
“Sljedećih nekoliko desetljeća bit će kraj civilizacije na kakvu smo navikli”, rekao je Ehrlich.
“60 minuta” je dalo Ehrlichu platformu za izbacivanje novih laži.
