Media reports: Sam Smit and Kim Petras gained a lot of attention on social networks after their performance, which had a satanic theme and stage design. Sam Smith put on a top hat with devil horns as flames rose around them. Adding to conservative concerns, the song was performed by a non-binary person and a transgender woman. Many claimed that the play was “satanic” and expressed their disappointment online.

After their performance, the Grammys cut to a commercial that revealed the show was “sponsored by Pfizer.”
They confirmed this in an exclusive statement to Newsweek. Pfizer said:
“We sponsored the entire Grammy event, not a special performance. Beyond that, we do not comment on our efforts to raise awareness.”
Despite Pfizer specifically noting that they were not sponsoring the individual performance (apparently alluding to the song in question), netizens were convinced that they were of some importance to Smith and Petra’s “satanic” performance.
Meanwhile, netizens quickly noticed that when the company’s name is spelled backwards, ie Rezifp, it means “one who burns” or “destroyer” in Hebrew. Many associated this with the devil and the underworld.
